PROTOTYPE OF MOTORCYCLE v.2016

The v.2016 is a motorcycle designed and manufactured entirely by engineering students within the Maqlab research group of the Carlos III University of Madrid in 2016. It is the first motorcycle in the world with chassis and monoblock swingarm made of aluminum alloy.

It was necessary 300 kg of material for the chassis, and 80 kg for the swingarm. The final weight of the components is 9.6 kg and 4.9 respectively. What is important about its innovative concept is that it allows its operation with electric motors or with the traditional internal combustion engines.

Both the chassis and the swingarm were manufactured by CNC machining in ERGAL in a single piece from an aluminum block of 300 kg.

It is the first motorcycle in the world with monobloc chassis and swingarm in the world.
